Browser Client Requirements

EVA Netmodeler has a predominantly web-based user interface. It requires a web browser and a color display with a resolution of not less than 1024 horizontal and 768 vertical pixels. It is designed to be standards compliant and to be usable with a wide range of browsers.

Output web pages typically contain standard HTML, Java Script and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Most browsers can handle these without problems. Specifically Internet Explorer (6.0 and up), Firefox (1.5 and up) and Opera (8.5 and up) are supported.

Some browsers will restrict the running of Java Script and this would prevent many interface features from working correctly. Your browser must be configured to allow Java Script, at least for the EVA Netmodeler URL. If utility and secondary windows fail to launch, check that your browser is configured to allow pop-ups for this site.

A small number of features (mostly in the deprecated Item Browser) make use of Internet Explorer only features (e.g. resizing right hand side frames by clicking frame title bar). This behaviour is not supported in other browsers and will not be available if you use Firefox or Opera.

To support the loading and displaying of attached documents in their native applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, ...) it is necessary to have the browser recognize which application will handle which file types. On Windows this is achieved with file associations, normally configured when the relevant applications are installed or determined by the helper application configuration of the browser software. Please see the relevant documentation for your operating system or browser.
