Search Knowledge BaseInvoking SearchSearch can be invoked from the search button on the Top Navigation Bar or from the Main Menu. You can search within item names, item properties, associated documents, names of files within directories, or content of items within directories. You can limit searching to a specific type, or range over all types in the repository. Provide Search CriteriaYou will first be prompted for keywords to look for. This is normally a simple string e.g. "Wonderboy" but you can include multiple items separated by spaces, e.g. "Wonderboy meeting" - Note that the latter would match an item containing "Meeting with Wonderboy". Search is case insensitive, so it does not matter whether you use capital letters or not. Next, you can choose to constrain the search to a specific type, or allow it to span the whole repository. On large repositories, we recommend constraining the search if you can.. You can then choose the scope of the search to include one or more types of inspection, including:
You can use whatever combination of the above selections makes sense for your search. Note: You may not see all of the above operations. It is possible for system administrators to limit access to these facilities by user or user group. |
