Working with Related Content
EVA Netmodeler as a number of features that make working with related content easy.
- Documents and Templates link information in the repository to a wide variety of content items stored as electronic documents.
A document in EVA Netmodeler is any electronic file which the client environment can handle. These might include word processing documents, spreadsheets, presentations, portable document format files (.pdf), audio files, video clips and project management or model files from other products. EVA Netmodeler provides features to upload documents to the server from the client browser environment. Once there, the items are stored on the server in a designated directory. They are linked to the repository content and EVA Netmodeler will manage versions for you with date and time stamps.
- External content (web links)
Sometimes it is useful to merely reference web based content, rather than storing and maintaining a copy of the content. You can do this in EVA Netmodeler by using the Content and Hotlink property types. You can also use the Content Browser to automatically load and display the related web content whenever the item containing the web link is displayed.
- Directories
EVA Netmodeler can also expose directories which an administrator allows it to. Content in these directories can then be browsed by authorised
users, downloaded and viewed. Subject to security permissions and installed features, it is even possible for users to delete, zip or otherwise manipulate files on the server.
