Portal support

EVA Netmodeler content can be exposed through the Portal II Beta custom view. This view provides a simple way to give users access to all of the information contained in a domain.

Domain Selection

The portal custom view can be restricted to a single domain, if one is specified in the custom view parameter. A list of available domains is provided as a drop-down list if one is not specified.

Node Type Selection

Each node type in the selected or specified domain will be listed as a tab at the top of the domain view window. Clicking on a node type tab will make it the focus node type in the Item Selection Pane

Item Selection Pane

This pane lists the available items of the focus node type as specified in the Node Type Section. A simple item name filter box is provided at the top of this pane. The list of items is restricted to those that start with the characters entered in the filter box. Clicking on an item in the item list will make it the focus item in the Item Details Display Pane.

Item Details Display Pane

The focus item selected in the Item Selection Pane will be displayed in this pane. The properties are listed first, followed by the relationships and related items.

Creating a Portal Custom View

To use the portal view, you must first select or define the domain that contains all the node types that you want to expose through the portal.  Refer to the Domains section for more information on defining domains.

Next you must define a Custom Menu containing the link to the custom view. Refer to the Custom Menu section for more details on how to do this.

Lastly, you must grant access to the menu to the users that you want to use the portal. This may be an anonymous user, a user group or an individual user, or any combination of these. Refer to the User Administration section for more details on how to do this.
